College Counseling

WRITE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER WITH CONFIDENCE

The college process doesn't have to feel overwhelming.

At Marvelwood, it becomes intentional, supported, and empowering. Our personalized, four-year approach helps students discover who they are, what they value, and where they'll genuinely thrive. We believe the best college is the one where a student will succeed academically, socially, and personally. That belief shapes every recommendation and every conversation. We're not chasing prestige. We're finding the right match.

From freshman year through final applications, our College Counseling Office provides thoughtful guidance, practical tools, and steady encouragement. Working closely with each student, we’ll help you explore your options with clarity and confidence, ensuring you’re ready for the future you envision.

GUIDANCE THAT'S PERSONAL AND PRACTICAL

College counseling here is active and intentional. Our students attend a range of schools—from small liberal arts colleges to large research universities and specialized programs—each chosen because it was the right fit for that student.

Every student works one-on-one with their College Counselor, who gets to know their strengths, interests, and goals over time. Together, we build a college list that reflects both academic ambition and personal fit. The goal isn’t just acceptance—it's finding schools that align with who you are and what you want most.

Over 40 college admission reps visit campus each year

Students get help with choosing right-fit schools, essay development, interview prep, application strategy, and testing timelines. With more than 40 college admission representatives visiting campus each year, students have direct access and real opportunities to ask questions and make connections.

A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH

We offer open, ongoing communication with students and their families at every stage.

Parents of juniors and seniors meet regularly with their College Counselor to ensure everyone stays informed, involved, and aligned throughout the process. Families also receive a comprehensive College Guide and access to Naviance, a college and career platform, covering timelines, strategies, and everything needed to keep the process organized and manageable.

REAL-WORLD READINESS

Prepared In Practice, Not Just On Paper.

Marvelwood graduates are ready for college because they've already practiced independence, self-advocacy, and leadership in a supportive environment. They've learned to balance challenge with responsibility. They've taken initiative in clubs, service, and leadership roles. They know how to ask for help and how to own the goals they set out to achieve.

Over each of the last three years, 100% of Marvelwood applicants were accepted to college. The Class of '25 earned an average ACT of 30 and SAT of 1203. More importantly, our graduates choose schools where they're positioned to succeed and grow.
