Jonathan is a Marvelwood Alumnus from the class of 2017, where he graduated with both the Headmasters Cup and the Desmond Letsie Mphenyeke Award. During his time at Marvelwood, Jonathan was an active member of the Student Government and a Sterling Dorm Prefect and tour guide.
Jonathan attended Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where he was a Residential Advisor and the Director of Communications for the Student Government Association. He graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology.
When Jonathan returned home to Kent in 2022, he became an active member of the Kent Lions Club, the Kent Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member and Treasurer of Kent News, Inc.
Jonathan is ecstatic to be returning home to Marvelwood as part of the Admissions team. He hopes to engage prospective students in their academic journey and help them understand why Marvelwood is such a special place.

Karin joined the Marvelwood staff in 2005 after being a stay at home mom for 16 years. After six years as Assistant to the Health Center, Karin moved across the street to the Academic Office where she served as Registrar for three years. Currently, she is a Senior Associate for Advancement & Marketing.
Karin loves Marvelwood and her extended family here; she and her husband are very grateful that two of their children have had the opportunity to learn and grow as students at Marvelwood which helped shape them into the successful adults that they are today.

Linda earned a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in English from Simmons College in Boston, and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English Literature and Renaissance Studies from The Graduate
Center, CUNY. She has taught literature and composition courses at John Jay College, City College, Hunter College, Baruch College, Western Connecticut State University, and Taconic Learning Center. Linda also served as a Writing Fellow at John Jay College, and held Communication and Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute at Baruch College. She began her teaching career at Charlestown High School in Boston and taught English at Vandzenes Vidusskola in Latvia.
Linda's approach to teaching is student-centered and focuses on students' intellectual, emotional, and social growth. She currently teaches English 10, English 10 Honors, ESL, Conversational French, and works with students in Learning Support. She has taught courses in Shakespeare, Chaucer (in both Middle and Modern English), Virginia Woolf and Postmodernism, Introduction to Literature, Monsters in British Literature, Magic and Witchcraft in the Renaissance, and Composition and Rhetoric.
Linda lives in Sharon with her husband, Alfred Lippincott, and their fluffy, gray feline, KittyPuss. She and Alfred enjoy gardening in their 60' x 80' garden and sharing the bounty with family, friends, and a local food pantry. She also loves yoga, cycling, hiking the Sharon Land Trust trails with her husband, stepdaughters, and granddaughter, and taking brisk beach walks in Watch Hill, RI. Linda is fluent in Latvian, and has advanced-level skills in French.

Karl has spent nearly all of his 32-year career as a boarding school educator. A 1985 alumnus of The Kildonan School, he began teaching, tutoring, and coaching there in 1990. He also served in a number of capacities including coaching, dorm supervision, advising, and served as Director of Residential Life, and Dean of Students. Most recently, he served as Director of Residential Life at The Greenwood School.
Karl is a proud member of the Camp Dunnabeck team that moved the camp successfully to the Marvelwood campus this summer. He is delighted to be involved with the Kildonan/Marvelwood partnership and is happy to be a member of the Marvelwood community.

Erin Powers-Stockl is passionate about teaching. She has taught all levels of education in the private and public sectors. In the past 20 years, she has taught 1:1, small group, and classes with a concentration in phonics, phonological awareness, morphology, vocabulary acquisition, test taking strategies, reading comprehension, fluency, and writing. She has administered and interpreted standardized and criterion referenced academic evaluations and utilized this data to create individualized curriculum.
Erin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University; a Master’s degree in Special Education from Simmons College; and an Associate level certification in Orton-Gillingham. She also holds a teaching endorsement in Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) and has worked with many ESL students over her career. At Marvelwood, she will be working as a 1:1 Orton-Gillingham Language practitioner.
Originally from Massachusetts, Erin now resides with her family in the Hudson Valley. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, kayaking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Glenn Sanchez has held many positions in his tenure at Marvelwood, including Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations, Athletic Director and Academic Dean. He is currently Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He has enjoyed connecting with the alumni he's gotten to know over his many years with the School. Glenn also teaches history and electives such as Astronomy and Philosophy and Harry Potter. Each year, Glenn’s top students put their diplomatic skills to the test, participating in the Model United Nations at Yale University.
Glenn met his wife Sarah Marshall on Marvelwood's Cornwall campus. During her time with the school she worked as a Spanish teacher, Assistant Academic Dean, and Summer School Director. She is now the Director of the Kent Memorial Library. The Sanchez family lives on campus with their two children, Victoria '18 and Alexander ‘19, who are proud alumni of the School. Victoria is a senior at Dickinson University and Alex is in his junior year at Gettysburg College.
"I love teaching, mentoring, coaching, and the camaraderie that develops at boarding school. My interests outside the school- sports, hiking, learning new languages, astronomy, and most recently, Comic Con, help me connect with my students. I'm very excited and proud that both of my children attend Marvelwood, and that they helped me develop my Harry Potter and Philosophy elective class.”

Mr. Sceusa graduated from Marvelwood, many eons ago, in 2007. He studied Computer Graphics Technology in college, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science. Before returning to Marvelwood, Mr. Sceusa worked for 10 years developing STEAM and technology related classes for after school programs for a small family owned company. His specialties are in 3D Animation and Game Design. Mr. Sceusa is a huge believer in the application of technology, an advocate for board games, loves Role Playing Games such Dungeons and Dragons, and enjoys going to the cinema to view the next fantasy or sci-fi flick. Never declines a brownie sundae or cheesecake when offered.

Carola Schmidt is The Marvelwood School Controller in our Business Office on campus. Carola earned her BBA and MBA from Pace University and grew up in New York City. After college, Carola worked in an assortment of accounting and IT positions, before joining the Marvelwood staff in 2010.
Carola is the proud parent of Loren Schmidt, who works for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants in Arlington, VA and the late Kendall Schmidt. Carola currently lives in New Fairfield, CT with her Meyers Parrot, Kiwi, Desert Iguana, Larry Lazarus, and two boxers, Chloe and Zeus. She also enjoys art media, quilting, crochet, gardening and cooking.
