The Marvelwood Parents Association
The mission of the The Marvelwood Parents Association is to facilitate parent involvement in the Marvelwood community to enhance the lives of the students and faculty. Each and every parent who volunteers makes a significant difference in the quality of life on campus. We look forward to seeing lots of new parent volunteers this school year, working for "the greater good" of the Marvelwood community.
All parents of current Marvelwood students are members of The Marvelwood Parents Association (MPA). The MPA meets monthly on campus to discuss effective parental participation in the life of the school. In addition, each meeting includes a report from the Head of School. Throughout the year the MPA hosts several social events for parents and students.
A message from PA President Joanne Gersten '17, '20:
I am delighted to be part of the Marvelwood family and honored to continue serving as President of the Marvelwood Parents Association. My husband Greg and I were thrilled to watch our daughter Emily, now in college, thrive at Marvelwood. Our son Jack is excelling academically and enjoying a fun social life.
As a professional therapist counseling adolescents in private high school settings, I have been impressed with the exceptional educational, cultural, and social opportunities provided to the students at Marvelwood to prepare them for college, career, and life. Marvelwood helps students build confidence in their abilities to succeed. What is most remarkable about Marvelwood is that the students here are happy, engaged in learning, and integrated in a nurturing school community. I think that is what we all want for our kids.
I have enjoyed volunteering my time and working on school events. It is quite fun to help the School, and socialize with such wonderful parents, families, students, and faculty. I invite all of you to participate in the MPA. Your help and support whether you live local or far away is greatly appreciated. Each and every parent who volunteers makes a significant difference on the quality of life on campus for everyone.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
