Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action Seminars (IDEAS)

IDEAS, which stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Action Seminars, is an annual educational experience during the two-week interim period between Thanksgiving and Winter break where the entire Marvelwood community undergoes an interdisciplinary curriculum to better educate our community on varying cultural and social topics.

IDEAS is structured so students and faculty work together to better understand our community at Marvelwood and the world around them.

Every year, IDEAS formulates a curriculum based on one of our core values, which are Respect, Responsibility, Service, and Honesty. Within this framework, students are put into groups, experts of different disciplines come and present, and it includes hands-on activities.

One special piece to the IDEAS experience is our alumni panel, where students who have graduated from Marvelwood come back and discuss the given topic as it relates to their experiences on campus, personal lives and professions.
