Math Challenge!

Every year, Marvelwood students have the opportunity to participate in the American Mathematics Competition, designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. The American Mathematics Competition (AMC), which takes place all over the country in February, contains 25 multiple choice questions to be completed within 75 minutes. Preparation for the competition works hand-in-hand with Marvelwood's math curriculum through which students are challenged to develop and improve their mathematical talents and analytical skills.

This year, eleven students participated in the competition in two levels: 9th and 10th grade students participated in AMC 10, and 11th and 12th grade students participated in AMC 12. This year, outstanding math student David Ma ‘20 participated in the AMC 12 as a sophomore.

After receiving the results from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), a mini-award ceremony was held. Congratulations to all of the participants for their hard work and dedication to the study of mathematics!
