The Marvelwood JV Basketball team returned from the winter
break and lost a very close game at Forman by 4 points before traveling to
Trumbull for a game against the top ranked Christian Heritage.Our team played hard but eventually
lost by 17.We regrouped and again
hit the road for our third straight away game at the Poughkeepsie Day
School.Our team played aggressive
defense and jumped out to a 10 point lead.In the second half PDS played inspired while our team lost
its focus and energy for the first 8 minutes.The score was basically tied throughout the second half
before we took a 2 point lead into the final minute.With 9 seconds left and a 2 point lead, Bowen Luo ’10 sank two free throws to seal the deal and give us
our first victory of the season!
Bowen Luo ’10 led
the team with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.Qugio Wang ’11
played a great game with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and assists.Kao-Ting Hsu ’12 also played well in the paint with 10 points, 7
rebounds, and 3 steals.Kevin
Bogucki ’11 scored 6 points, grabbed 6
rebounds, and had 2 steals and 2 assists.TJ Jacobs handled the
ball well at the point and recorded 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.Tyler Knowles’10
also played well with 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots.Our next game is against the New York
Military Academy here in Kent on Wednesday 27th. - Coach Mason
