On Tuesday evening, January 19th, Marvelwood students enjoyed a rousing Casino Night on campus.
Each student was given $500 in chips. Faculty volunteers manned the various tables where students played blackjack, roulette, and other games of chance. They could either could trade their winnings for a raffle ticket for a door prize or, for a larger sum, "buy" a prize outright. Prizes included incentive-type rewards like "Get Out of Dress Code for a Day" or "Extend Your Bedtime by 30 Minutes" as well as gift certificates to local restaurants.
Some students went right for the prize of their choice, while others learned hard lessons, amassing large sums but losing it all on one spin of the roulette wheel!
Many thanks to Student Activities co-coordinators Wendi Love and Terrie Barens and Residential Life director Misty Jordan for organizing this fun event!
