On Saturday, December 5th the Marvelwood Boys' JV
Basketball team traveled across town to play the South Kent.The game was evenly played throughout
and eventually came down to the final 30 seconds to decide the outcome.Our team was down by 9 points with 3
minutes to go before our defense created several turnovers and we tied the
game.South Kent scored a basket
and with 20 seconds left we got up a shot, grabbed the rebound and
unfortunately as our player was knocked to the floor, no foul was called.After a purposeful foul and South Kent
making one free throw, we attempted a last second 3 point shot to tie the game
but could not get space from their defenders.In the end we lost by the score of 47-50.
Kevin Bogucki ’11
played his first game and led the team with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 3
steals.Kao-Ting Hsu ‘12added 9 points and 10 rebounds while our other big
man in the paint Qigao Wang ‘11 played
extrememly well with 7 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assists and a huge
blocked shot!Bowen Luo
’10 ran the point with 6 points, 3
assists, and 3 steals before fouling out.This was a tough loss after playing so hard.The team is 0-2 overall with one more game before break
