The Marvelwood JV Basketball team traveled to play the
Harvey School for our first game of the season.With limited practice time to prepare, the first game is
always difficult.However, the
team this year is very talented and they played hard until the final buzzer,
losing by the score of 52-36.The
game was a great learning experience for the team and once we are more
comfortable with our offensive plays, we are going to be a tough team to beat.
Bowen Luo ’10 led
the team with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals.Shooting guard TJJacobs ‘10 also played
a solid all around game with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2
steals.Kao-Ting Hsu ‘12 played well in the post with 4 points, 5 rebounds
and 1 steal.Also playing well in
the paint was Qigao Wang ‘11 who
scored 4 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assists.Our team started slow but Serrano Gibson ‘13 came in and provided a big spark for the offense
with 6 points and 4 rebounds.Zidong
Liu ‘10 and Wei Cui ‘10 both played solid defense and distributed the ball
while Tyler Knowles ‘10 came off
the bench and played great in the post with 5 rebounds. - Coach Mason
