Weekend Activities
After lunch on Saturdays, there are supervised activities and trips in the afternoon and evening. On Sundays, students enjoy a later brunch and a variety of activities throughout the day; study hall recommences after dinner Sunday evenings.
Marvelwood offers a broad range of fun and interesting activities each weekend. Last summer, students departed on two overnight trips. The first trip was to northern Massachusetts, where students camped in Mohawk State Forest and went whitewater rafting on the Deerfield River. The second trip was to Boston and Plymouth, MA; students went shopping and had dinner in Quincy Market on Saturday night and on Sunday visited the Plimoth Plantation and went on a whale watch.
On-campus weekend activities may include trips to New York, Hartford and the Connecticut shoreline, amusement park visits, and community service projects.
Students in good standing may also obtain parental permission for a weekend off campus.
